Fairview Park City Schools earns state communication awards

17457446_1790469464610343_7500459012974232162_nThe Ohio School Public Relations Association (OHSPRA) recently recognized Fairview Park City Schools with two Achievement Awards during its annual state Spring Conference in Columbus, Ohio held on March 23-24.

Fairview Park City Schools received a Mark of Distinction award for the district’s Facebook page and their “Fairview Fast Five” e-newsletter. Mark of Distinction awards are presented to entries that receive a score of 90 percent or higher. Social media profiles were judged on content, design, writing, graphics, and photography. E-newsletters were judged on content, design, writing, editing, graphics, photography and ease of use.

District Communications and Marketing Coordinator Amanda Lloyd accepted the awards on behalf of the district: “Social media and e-mail communication are two great ways to engage with our community,” she said. “We are honored to be recognized for our work on these platforms.”

Achievement Awards recognize exemplary school public relations and marketing plans, marketing materials, websites, videos, print newsletters, special purpose publications, photography, writing pieces and e-newsletters. The competition is open to all public or private schools and districts, career and vocational centers and education-related organizations across the state.

The Ohio School Public Relations Association (OHSPRA) is a public relations organization that has dedicated more than 30 years to facilitating support for and trust in education through comprehensive communications efforts. OHSPRA fulfills this mission by assisting members in listening to and communicating responsibly with their many internal and external publics as well as enhancing the image and role of public relations with educational management. With more than 150 members, OHSPRA remains a leader in School PR across the nation.
