Fairview High School celebrates PLTW graduates

Class of 2024 PLTW GraduatesMay 9, 2024

On April 30, 2024, Fairview High School celebrated academic achievement and innovation by honoring 13 seniors from the Class of 2024 who completed the Project Lead the Way Program.

Project Lead the Way Program offers students an immersive learning experience that prepares them for future success in STEM fields.

"Project Lead the Way empowers students to step into the role of an engineer, adopt a problem-solving mindset, and make the leap from dreamers to doers," Fairview High School engineering teacher Heather Delis explained during the graduation ceremony.

The ceremony, held at Fairview High School's auditorium, recognized students who completed at least four courses in the PLTW Engineering pathway. Among them were five students who completed all five courses in the program.

"As I look out at this group that I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know over the past four years, I am so proud of the young men and women they have become," Delis reflected.

Students engaged in courses including Introduction to Engineering Design, Digital Electronics, Civil Engineering and Architecture, Principles of Engineering, and AP Computer Science Principles. Through hands-on projects and real-world applications, they developed critical skills and gained a deep understanding of the engineering design process.

The ceremony also recognized students' outstanding achievements, with two students receiving special awards. Tyson Crandall received the Innovation Award for his exceptional originality and problem-solving skills, while Andrew Hille was honored with the Leadership Award for his exemplary leadership qualities.

Delis emphasized the unique contributions of each student.

"You are all unique in your own way, and together, we have created a community that will forever hold a special place in my heart," Delis said, addressing the graduates. "Your enthusiasm for learning and willingness to tackle challenges head-on have inspired me each and every day."
