Erin Hinkel and her husband, John, have been residents of Fairview Park since 2000. They have been married for almost 20 years, and have two children: Connor and Katie. Connor is a sophomore at Fairview High School and Katie is a fifth grader and Gilles-Sweet.
Mrs. Hinkel is a 1993 Graduate North Olmsted High School and a 1998 Graduate from Cleveland State University with a Bachelor in Fine Arts.
She worked as a graphic designer and project manager for ten years until she stayed home with her son after he was diagnosed with Autism. In 2014, Mrs. Hinkel graduated from Partners in Policy Making, a legislative class to teach people with disabilities and their families the power of advocacy and how to positively change the way people with disabilities are supported, viewed, taught, live, and work. Over the years she has helped facilitate workshops for families with Cuyahoga County Board of Developmental Disabilities and Transition Boosters group. In 2015 she also founded a local support group for families in Fairview Park called Fairview Park Parents of Special Education. Mrs. Hinkel also works part-time as a book keeper at the Elks Lodge in Westlake. Mrs. Hinkel was appointed to Board Vice President in January 2021.
