Student and staff health and safety is a top priority in the Fairview Park City School District. In our efforts to keep our students, staff and families informed with the latest information on the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting extended school closure, please use this page as a reference.
The Ohio Department of Health has established a Call Center, staffed by licensed nurses and infectious disease experts to answer questions regarding coronavirus every day, 9 a.m.-8 p.m. Call 1-833-4-ASK-ODH (1-833-427-5634).
These simple preventative measures are known to minimize the spread of communicable diseases. Health authorities indicate that the best ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19 are the same recommendations for preventing the spread of the flu virus. The following steps that are proven successful in preventing the spread of the flu and the common cold, can also help prevent COVID-19, including:
The Fairview Park City School District is providing meals during the extended school closure for families who rely on free or reduced-cost meals for their children.
We will continue to offer no-cost, grab-and-go meals (each student will receive 5 breakfasts and 5 lunches) each week.

Teachers are using many learning tools during this extended school closure. Students in Pre-K through 5th grade can find communications and lessons from teachers on Seesaw, in addition to many pre-loaded Apps. Elementary Grade-Level Resources can be found on the Gilles-Sweet homepage.
Students in grades 6-12 can find communications via the Summit Learning platform, Google Classroom, or individual teacher blogs.
We are in the process of compiling a comprehensive, vetted list of additional educational resources for our students and families. If you need additional resources in the meantime, please contact your child’s teacher directly.

Your children may have questions or concerns about COVID-19 and how it is transmitted. There has been a LOT of misinformation and rumors being shared via social media between kids. Please review and encourage these credible and reliable resources and discourage the sharing of misinformation.
As we all settle into this new routine, we encourage families with children of all ages to follow the guidance and resources provided by their child’s teacher(s).
You may find it helpful, if you do not already have a dedicated study or work space at home to create one. Since many children thrive on a routine, write down a daily routine and post it in a visible place in your home. We have created this printable daily schedule template for you to fill out and use if you would like.

What about testing and graduation requirements?
The Ohio State Tests and the End of Course test windows have been delayed indefinitely. The student testing site will not be accessible during the school closure.
