What is PTA Council?
What is a PTA Council?
A PTA council is a collaborative organization of at least three local PTAs that work together under the authority of Ohio PTA. Councils typically serve an entire school district or community, bringing together all the individual PTA units that operate within that area. This district-wide or community-wide scope allows councils to serve as a vital bridge between local PTAs and Ohio/National PTA, providing coordination, support, and unified advocacy for all children and families across the broader educational community.
The power of councils lies in their ability to amplify the collective voice of multiple PTAs, tackle challenges that are too large for individual units to address alone, and create efficiencies through shared resources and coordinated efforts. Rather than having each PTA work in isolation, councils create a network of support and collaboration that strengthens the entire PTA movement within their service area.
