Dave Latkovic Selected as Head Coach of Varsity Football Team

latkovic-daveDave Latkovic will return to the field as the Head Coach for the Varsity Football Team for the 2017-18 season.

He served as the head coach at Fairview High School from 2007-2011. He most recently was the Head Coach/Defensive Coordinator forJohn Marshall High School in Cleveland until returning to the Fairview Park City School District as an English teacher at Fairview High School at the start of the 2016-17 school year.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to bring Dave back as the Head Coach of the Fairview High School Varsity football team,” said Athletic Director Chris Honeck. “Dave’s positive attitude, skills set and level of energy set him apart.”

Latkovic played at Wittenberg University from 1989-1993 where he was All-NCAC his junior and senior years and was a captain his senior year. He has held several coaching positions in local districts over the years including St. Edwards in Lakewood and John Marshall and Lincoln West in Cleveland.

Mr. Latvovic is equally excited to return to Fairview athletics. “I am really excited to be back. I really enjoy the Fairview kids,” he said. “I hope to bring energy to the team and instill a belief in them to play with a sense of urgency to win. I know it’s inside them… and we have to bring it out.”
