Tech Misuse Policy for HS/MS Students

2025-26 HS/MS Tech Misuse Policy for Students 

Please remember that technology is provided for EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES in keeping with the academic goals of the District, and that using your computer for any other purpose will result in the following disciplinary action(s): 

This includes, but is not limited to the following: 

  1. Playing games that are not a part of a teacher assignment. 
  2. Watching videos that are not a part of a teacher assignment. 
  3. Using email, Google Docs, or another tool to chat with other students when it is not a part of a teacher assignment. 
  4. Any attempt to bypass Securly. 
  5. Any violation of the Acceptable Use Policy found in the Student Handbook. 
  • 1st Offense: Your computer will be placed in a RESTRICTED mode for 2 weeks. 
  • 2nd Offense: Your computer will be placed in a RESTRICTED mode for the remainder of the school year.
  • Any additional offenses will result in a referral to the building principal. 

ATTENTION: Your computer, case, and charger are property of Fairview Park City Schools. You are responsible for your devices and will be charged for all damaged or lost equipment according to the FPCS Technology Insurance Policy. 

REMINDER: Your case should never be removed from your computer, and there should not be any papers of any kind behind your case. Also, stickers should not be added to your computer or case, and your name tag should remain on and viewable at all times. 

LOANER CHARGERS: Loaner chargers WILL NOT be provided this school year. Bring your charger to school if you need to charge your computer during the day. If you forget your charger and your computer needs to be charged, you can drop off your computer in the Innovation Center to be charged. 

LOANER COMPUTERS: Loaner computers can be checked out in the Innovation Center if you forget your computer at home.
