The Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) recently awarded the Fairview Park City School District its Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) for excellence in budget presentation for the 8th consecutive year. The award is presented to school districts that have met or exceeded the rigorous Meritorious Budget Award criteria. Fairview Park City Schools is one of three districts in the state to receive this award.
The Meritorious Budget Awards (MBA) program promotes and recognizes excellence in school budget presentation and enhances school business officials’ skills in developing, analyzing, and presenting a school system budget. After a rigorous review by professional auditors, the award is conferred only on school districts that have met or exceeded the program’s stringent criteria.
To earn this award, the district submitted its 2014-2015 budget for a rigorous review based on stringent criteria, including:
- Presenting clear budget guidelines
- Promoting communication between departments and the community
- Encouraging short- and long-range budget goals
- Supporting effective use of educational resources
“This award demonstrates the outstanding efforts of our entire financial team,” said district Treasurer Amy L. Hendricks. “We are honored to receive this recognition for yet another year and eager to continue our success.”
