During a special meeting on Tuesday, July 7th, the Fairview Park Board of Education voted to appoint Mr. Chris Vicha as the new Principal of Fairview High School. He replaces Brady Sheets, who recently accepted a position as the Director of Human Resources for the Westlake City Schools. As part of his recommendation, Dr. Bill Wagner, Superintendent of the Fairview Park City Schools shared, “Mr. Vicha has provided tremendous leadership at FHS over the past 8 years and has proven he is ready to lead the staff, students, and parents to achieve great things in the upcoming school year.”
Mr. Vicha began his administrative career with the district eight years ago. Throughout his tenure at FHS, Mr. Vicha served as HS Associate Principal (8 years) serving also as Athletic Director for the first 3 years. Mr. Vicha earned a Bachelor of Arts in English Education from Baldwin Wallace College and a Masters of Educational Instruction from the University of Cincinnati. Mr. Vicha stated: “It is truly an honor to be given the opportunity to lead a building where every student has the ability to receive a first-class education. I look forward to working with the talented staff, inspiring students and supportive community to ensure each child is given every opportunity to grasp his/her full potential while showcasing their own unique talents.”
Mr. Vicha was given a 3-year administrative contract, effective August 1, 2015.
At the same meeting, members of the Board voted to promote Mr. Ray Mohr from Associate Principal to Principal of Mayer Middle School. Mr. Mohr served as Associate Principal of Lewis F. Mayer Middle School for the past five years. “I am looking forward to this opportunity. It’s a privilege to work with the staff, parents, and students in the Fairview Community”, stated Mr. Mohr upon his approval. Dr. Wagner added, “Mr. Mohr has provided outstanding vision and focus at Mayer Middle School. He has many great ideas that will help make the middle school better than ever.” Mr. Mohr received his Bachelor of Arts in Science Education from Defiance College and a Masters of School Leadership from Baldwin Wallace College. Mr. Mohr was given a 3-year administrative contract, effective August 1, 2015.
A search for a new 6-12 Associate Principal was posted immediately following the meeting. The new Associate Principal will provide support and transition between the two schools with primary responsibility at the high school.
