Fairview Park City Schools Treasurer/CFO Honored with Distinguished Service Award
Award Provides $500 Scholarship for Local High School Senior
Columbus, OH (June 15, 2021) – Rob Showalter, Treasurer/CFO at Fairview Park City Schools was awarded the 2021 Northeast Region Distinguished Service Award by the Ohio Association of School Business Officials’ (OASBO) Foundation for School Business Management at the Foundation’s Past Presidents Gala & Award Ceremony in Columbus.
Showalter was nominated by his colleague Kent Zeman, Treasurer at Lakewood City Schools. “Rob is of high moral character and integrity. He continually goes beyond the norm to ensure that any situation is resolved both professionally and concisely. He works well with various personalities and rises above the circumstances to fulfill the district’s mission. His leadership and vision include excellent customer service with a commitment to education.”
The Distinguished Service Awards Program is a series of awards recognizing one individual from each of OASBO’s five regions who has made a significant contribution to their profession. The award recipient’s district receives a $500 scholarship to grant to a senior in the district.
“Whether it is providing information to the negotiating team, continuous improvement committee, or a levy committee, Rob brings his knowledge, leadership, and “get the job done right” attitude to any situation,” said Zeman. “Rob is highly respected for his professionalism and dedication to the financial operations of the district and the community.”
