Positive Behavior Interventions and Support
At the corner of Positive Choice Avenue and Respect Road at Gilles-Sweet Elementary, you’ll always find Warrior PRIDE.
Gilles-Sweet Elementary School has incorporated the PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Support) model with the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program to create a collaborative and engaging program called “Warrior P.R.I.D.E.”
Principal Barb Brady, Associate Principal Matthew Krivak, and School Counselor Meredith Schulte are the guests on this episode of “The Fairview Advantage” podcast and share the details of the Warrior P.R.I.D.E. program.
While the elementary school, which celebrates its 10-year anniversary this year, had a PBIS program in place since the building’s opening, Principal Brady said, “We decided it was time to refresh our model and fine-tune what we had been doing.”
The program directly aligns with the district’s vision to be “a community united.”
Gilles-Sweet teachers and administrators have coined the hashtag #GillesGreat to highlight exceptional examples of Warrior Pride.
