Important Scheduling Information for MS/HS Students

We are very excited to personally welcome our students to MMS & FHS for the 2019-2020 school year! Since student schedules will be accessible via PowerSchool (PS) on August 22 we would like to share some information intended to help with scheduling questions/concerns.

The scheduling information you will see on PS is a work in progress! Schedules as you see them on PS may not be finalized, as we continue to tweak teacher and student schedules through the start of the school year.

Please refer to PowerSchool on September 4th to view the most updated version of your class schedule, and follow that schedule on the first day of school, September 5th.

Your counselor will be happy to address/discuss your scheduling concerns upon the start of the school year. Please see below for grade level specific guidelines related to the fall scheduling processes at the MS & HS.

Thank you and enjoy your last few days of summer vacation!

FHS Fall Scheduling Process

  • Paper copies of schedules can be picked up in the high school office on Thursday, August 29th and Friday, August 30th
  • Students should obtain an Add/Drop Request Form (for electives only), which will be available in the Counseling Office for the first five days of the semester
  • Forms require a parent/guardian signature, and will be accepted through September 13th
  • Submission of Add/Drop Request Forms does not guarantee schedule changes
  • Students will be notified of their change request status via school email
  • Student must follow schedule in PowerSchool until counselor responds to request
  • No changes will be made for lunch or mentoring
  • No changes will be made based on period and teacher preferences
  • Mrs. Lockwood will be assigning lockers to high school students requesting them.  Please email ([email protected]) or go in person to the attendance office the first few days of school

MMS Fall Scheduling Process

  • Please encourage your student to handle communication about his/her schedule concerns directly with Mrs. Cory during the school day – students may come in before school, during lunch/mentoring, or ask teachers to visit the counseling office during class!

  • Students selected their first choice elective, and received a combination of the other electives offered (as indicated on scheduling forms)
  • Scheduling constraints prohibit changes to elective requests, but consideration will be given if a student did not receive his/her first choice
  • Students may sign up to see Mrs. Cory on a list in the MMS main office, and will be called down throughout the first five days of the semester
  • Students must follow schedule in PowerSchool until meeting with Mrs. Cory
  • No changes will be made for lunch or mentoring
  • No changes will be made based on period and teacher preferences
  • Study hall availability for 7th and 8th graders was extremely limited, and is closed at this time

Thank you!
