LMS Rubric Draft

January 16 – 6:30 p.m. – Gilles-Sweet Cafetorium

Facilitated by Dr. Pope, President, Tri-C Westshore:

To the members of the Fairview Park City Schools LMS review committee,

I am looking forward to our next meeting this Thursday, January 16 at 6:30 pm.  We will be working to refine the LMS review rubrics and establish subcommittees to begin the review process.  Eleven key criteria were identified at our last meeting as the basis for the rubric (listed below).  Please review these criteria and the results of the group clustering activity so we are prepared to finalize the rubric.

We will also establish the list of LMS products to review.   There are hundreds of LMS options available for education.  I am including links to review sites for some of the more widely used systems and a general site where one can use filters to explore lesser known products.  If you have knowledge of an LMS system that you would like to have included, please be prepared to share that information with the committee.

Key Criteria

  • Communication
  • Universal
  • Content and Curriculum (set up for PBL)
  • Technology features (including on demand training and support modules)
  • Adaptability
  • Consistency for all
  • User Friendly
  • Outcomes and grading functionalities
  • Personalization
  • Soft Skills / Example functions
  • Aesthetics/ Good visual design
