Fairview Girls Locker Room Renovated With Community Support

The Fairview High School girls' locker room received a long-awaited overhaul this year, thanks to funding from an anonymous donor and the all-volunteer Fairview Park Athletic Club.

The $23,000 locker room renovation was funded through a combined effort, including $13,597 from an anonymous Fairview Park donor, $5,000 from the Fairview Park Athletic Club, and $5,000 from the district.

“They removed all the old lockers which I believe were a part of the old pool locker room at some point,” Fairview High School & Mayer Middle School Athletic Director Jon Adams explained. “The lockers are wider, they have lockable storage, and there is bench seating. It’s just a more athlete-friendly facility than what we had prior.”

“When I walked into the locker room and saw it, I got tears in my eyes,” FPAC President Meghan Willis said. “I wasn’t expecting that at all. But it’s huge for these kids to have.”

The renovation of the locker room had been on Adams’ radar since he began as Athletic Director in the fall of 2023.

“The completion of this project lets the female athletes here know that you’ve been heard and we’re here to support you,” Adams expressed. “The status of that locker room had been a complaint I had heard for the last two years. We want them to be comfortable being an athlete here.”

Over the last two years, the Fairview Park Athletic Club and the anonymous donor have contributed more than $67,000 to Fairview Athletics and the student-athlete experience at FHS.

In August 2023, FPAC donated $5,700 to upgrade the sound system at James B. Daley Stadium. The following spring, the FHS weight room was upgraded thanks to a generous donation from FPAC and the anonymous donor totaling approximately $34,000. Upgrades included adding workout racks, benches, dumbbells, and plate weights. Read more about the impact of the new weight room by clicking here.

In the spring of 2025, FPAC donated $6,000 toward a Game Ready cold compression therapy unit to help student-athletes recover more quickly from injuries. They also purchased a new $3,000 windscreen for the stadium, improving the game-day experience for students and Fairview fans.

After learning about the Game Ready and windscreen donation in the summer, the anonymous donor contacted FPAC again to begin discussions about the next project they could support.

“Just to know that there is someone out there that cares about these kids that much - and doesn’t want credit for it - it’s huge,” Willis added.

“It’s expensive to run an athletic department,” Adams noted. “We’re a small district, but, at the same time, we are trying to fill the wants, needs, and desires of our student-athletes. To have people who see the financial struggles that a district can have to keep up with that, and to have people who are willing to donate not only their money but also their time, that’s crucial. Every decision we make in this department is about the kids.”

Supporting Fairview Athletics and FPAC is easy and open to anyone. Money raised by FPAC supports all student-athletes in the Fairview Park City School District, in all sports. Becoming an FPAC member can cost an individual as little as $10.

“I love to be a part of [FPAC],” Willis said. “We have such a great board. And I’m lucky that I spend so much time doing this and that I have the time and opportunity to help these kids.”

Stadium and gymnasium banner sponsorship opportunities are also crucial to FPAC. Opportunities for banner sponsorships are currently available, including for the winter and spring sports seasons in 2026.

“Our sponsor banners are so important because that’s a big chunk that helps with these big projects,” Willis said.
