On May 29, 2026, the Ohio Auditor of State's Office recognized Fairview Park City Schools with the Auditor of State Award with Distinction for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for fiscal year 2025.

The Auditor of State Award with Distinction is presented to public entities that receive a clean audit and meet rigorous reporting standards. Recipients must have no findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, or other financial concerns identified during the audit process.

“This award means a great deal to me because I know firsthand how much work goes on behind the scenes to make an achievement like this possible," Fairview Park City School District Treasurer Rob Showalter said. "I am incredibly fortunate to work with a team that cares deeply about this district and takes tremendous pride in doing things the right way. Their hard work, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence deserve the credit for this recognition.”

“By keeping accurate financial records, governing bodies demonstrate their commitment to efficient, effective, and transparent service,” Ohio Auditor of State Keith Faber said in a press release. “This award honors public entities that have put in the hard work to keep their finances in order.”

In addition to the Auditor of State Award with Distinction, the district also earned the Ohio Auditor of State StaRS Award. Fairview Park City Schools received four stars for meeting all Sunshine Law requirements and implementing five or more best practices that promote open and transparent government. It marks the fifth consecutive year the district has earned the four-star designation from the Auditor, the highest available.

In total, the Auditor of State’s office audits more than 5,900 state and local government agencies each year.

“I am grateful for the support and trust of our Board of Education, administration, and staff,” Showalter added. “I could not be prouder of our team or more thankful for everything we have accomplished together.”
