At a special meeting on Sept. 21, 2026, the Fairview Park City School District Board of Education approved Ryan Longwill as the district's next treasurer.

Longwill comes to Fairview Park after serving in financial leadership roles in school districts and other public-sector organizations for nearly two decades.

“On behalf of the Board of Education, I’m pleased to welcome our new treasurer, Ryan Longwill, to the district,” Board of Education President Erin Hinkel said. “Ryan brings an impressive depth of experience in school district finance and public-sector financial management, making him an excellent addition to Fairview Park City Schools.”

Most recently, Longwill served as assistant treasurer for North Ridgeville City School District. In that role, he prepared and maintained the district’s five-year financial forecast and managed financial reporting for federal and grant funding. He also worked with district leadership on long-term capital planning and coordinating annual financial audits.

Before joining North Ridgeville in 2025, Longwill spent two years as assistant treasurer for the Parma City School District. He also previously held several positions with the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority, including director of purchasing, cash manager, budget manager, and contract administrator.  As budget manager, he helped develop and coordinate the agency’s $225 million annual budget.

Longwill earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Kent State University, with a major in finance. He holds a State of Ohio School Treasurer License.

“His background in budgeting, financial forecasting, audits, grants and long-term financial planning will be a tremendous asset to our district,” Hinkel added. “We look forward to working with him as we continue to maintain strong financial stewardship and make thoughtful decisions that support our students, staff and community.”

“Ryan brings a lot of experience to the position, both in school finance and the public sector,” Superintendent Keith Ahearn said. “I’m excited to have him join our team and look forward to working with him as we continue to move the district forward.”

Longwill replaces former treasurer Rob Showalter, who resigned in August.

"I am honored to be selected as Fairview Park's next Treasurer and would like to thank the Board of Education for this opportunity,” Longwill said. “I look forward to collaborating with the dedicated educators and staff to provide an exceptional educational experience for the students and families of the district.”
