Weather Update for January 29, 2026

Fairview Park City School District Logo

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As I mentioned in my communication to our school community yesterday, deciding whether school is open or closed is never taken lightly and is extremely important to our school district and our families.

We continue to closely monitor weather conditions for Fairview Park. Based on the most current forecasted wind chill temperatures from the National Weather Service, the Fairview Park City School District will be in session tomorrow, Thursday, January 29, 2026.

Tomorrow, please take extra care and allow extra time as you help our students return to school. Our school district's grounds and maintenance crews have worked diligently to ensure our campuses are ready for students and staff to return. We ask that bus riders be outside at their bus stop 5 minutes before their scheduled pickup times. Students should be dressed appropriately for the cold weather.

We will continue to monitor weather conditions into Friday. If there are any changes, we will communicate that information as soon as we know. As a parent, you have the right not to send your child to school if you feel the weather conditions are too dangerous for them to attend. Of course, we want all students to be a part of in-school learning each day.

I know the past few days have been difficult for some families as we navigate extreme winter weather. The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
