November 9, 2022

On November 8, 2022, residents of Fairview Park approved Issue 7, the Fairview Park City School District renewal of an operations levy. Unofficial results from the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections show that Issue 7 passed with 68.74% in favor of renewing the levy.

“On behalf of the Board of Education, I would like to thank the Fairview Park community for their support of Issue 7,” Joslyn Dalton, president of the Fairview Park City School District Board of Education expressed. “With this renewal levy passed, the district can now focus on the important business of educating our children and preparing them for bright futures.”

Issue 7 provides $2.69 million to the district’s general fund or 10.7% of the overall operations budget. The general fund budget includes operating expenses like staff salaries, benefits, instructional supplies and materials, student extracurricular activities, maintenance, fuel, and other utilities. Voters originally passed this levy in 2003.

“We are grateful for the community’s support of Issue 7,” Fairview Park City Schools Superintendent Keith Ahearn stated. “I believe residents recognized the importance of this issue and the potential impact on our future. Moving forward, we will continue to be accountable to our taxpayers and show the incredible value we bring to our community.”
