In April, Ohio Auditor of State Keith Faber recognized the Fairview Park City School District’s Treasurer’s Office for excellence in financial reporting.

At the April 16, 2024, Board of Education regular meeting, Allen K. Allred, Chief Auditor Northeast Region for Ohio Auditor Keith Faber, recognized Fairview Park City School District Treasurer Rob Showalter and his staff with the Auditor of State Award With Distinction for the district’s 2023 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.

“This award puts the Fairview Park City School District in a very select group,” Allred explained at the Board meeting. “Auditor of State Keith Faber’s office audits approximately 6,000 entities, and less than four percent are eligible for this award.”

According to the Auditor of State website, the audit must not contain any “findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, Uniform Guidance (single audit) findings, or questioned costs” to be eligible.

“By keeping accurate financial records, governing bodies demonstrate their commitment to efficient, effective, and transparent service,” Auditor Faber said in a press release. “This award honors public entities that have put in the hard work to keep their finances in order.”

“I want to recognize the Board members and the superintendent that have done an outstanding job in watching over every dollar here in the Fairview Park School District,” Allen added. “I specifically want to recognize Treasurer Rob Showalter for his leadership, professionalism, and exceptional commitment to fiscal integrity.”
