COVID-19 Notifications

  • On August 12, 2022, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released updated guidance for K-12 schools throughout the nation. These protocols were also adopted by the Ohio Department of Health and the Cuyahoga County Board of Health.

    • Masking is optional for all students, staff, and visitors for the 2022-2023 school year. This applies to all students in grades PreK through 12, including our childcare programs.
    • If families feel their student should wear a mask for any reason, the district will continue to support and protect that decision.
    • According to CDC guidance, indoor masking is recommended during high COVID-19 community levels. Community level information can be found at: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/covid-by-county.html. At this time, the FPCS does not require indoor face coverings at schools during high community COVID-19 level.
    • The FPCS will discontinue COVID-19 building notifications and close contact notifications. Instead, local boards of health are focusing communication on cluster outbreaks at buildings, which can potentially cause disruption to education and schools. If directed, the FPCS will contact affected families and staff of a cluster outbreak.
    • The FPCS will also discontinue the COVID-19 dashboard beginning with the 2022-2023 school year.
    • The FPCS will continue to be diligent when it comes to disinfecting and sanitizing our buildings.
  • If your child tests positive for COVID-19

  • If you think your child has been exposed to COVID-19
